The Lincoln Navigator comes with an impressive array of features that make this SUV a luxuriously comfortable ride with versatile capabilities. And a part of those capabilities includes its best-in-class towing.

With the Lincoln Navigator, you will be able to hitch your trailer or other equipment to the back of your vehicle as you drive around Cerritos, Long Beach, Anaheim, and beyond. Below, our team at Norm Reeves Lincoln detailed the different configurations of this vehicle and what that means in terms of the Lincoln Navigator towing capacity.

Engine Configurations

The Lincoln Navigator comes with a Twin-Turbocharged 3.5L V6 engine that produces 450 horsepower and 510 lb-ft of torque. And paired with the 10-speed SelectShift® Automatic Transmission with Paddle Activation, the Navigator is a smooth ride that efficiently uses that abundance of power.

And for even more control when driving, there are six drive modes you can switch among that lets the vehicle tune various settings to the type of driving you would like. These modes include Slippery, Excite, Conserve, Deep Conditions, Normal, and Slow Climb.

There is also a standard 4x2 drivetrain in the Navigator with an available four-wheel drive system that you can opt for as well. The 4x4 system enhances your control and makes any on- or off-road driving situation a smooth one.

Lincoln Navigator Towing Capacity

The Navigator comes in seven trim levels: Base, Select, Select L, Reserve, Reserve L, Black Label, and Black Label L. Each of them comes with the 3.5L V6 engine, and depending on which one you choose, it's equipped with either the 4x2 or 4x4 drivetrain.

So depending on the combination of trim level and drivetrain, the maximum towing capacity will slightly alter. At its best, the Navigator will translate that power from the V6 engine into a towing capacity of 8,700 lbs. when paired with the 4x2 system. If you have the 4x4 system in your Navigator, you will still be able to tow up to 8,300 lbs.

The L trim levels of the Lincoln Navigator vary with 8,400 lbs. of towing capacity with the 4x2 system and 8,100 lbs. with the 4x4 in these trims.

Advance Features to Help You Tow

The Lincoln Navigator has an available Heavy-Duty Trailer Tow Package that features cutting-edge technology to make towing a safer and easier feat. It comes with an electronic traction assist system that delivers the amount of torque needed to each wheel, so you can confidently control all the weight you are towing.

This available package also comes with the Pro Trailer Backup Assistâ„¢ that helps you effortlessly back up your trailer with the simple use of a knob. And standard in the Navigator is a rear-view camera with washer to visually see your surroundings while backing up.
