To help Cerritos, Long Beach, and Anaheim drivers choose the right 2017 Lincoln Navigator trim level, the Norm Reeves Lincoln team has put together this handy guide.
2017 Lincoln Navigator Trim: The Starting Line
If you're wondering how capable the many Lincoln Navigator trim levels really are, then you're going to have to take a close look at its baseline. In the Lincoln Navigator Select trim, you'll have plenty of power, safety, and comfort. Let's look at its highlights.
Performance Specs
Standard in the 2017 Lincoln Navigator Select is a 3.5L V6 engine. This powertrain benefits from twin-turbocharging, which boosts its output to 450 HP and 510 lb-ft of torque. With all that muscle, and with the right equipment on your side, the Navigator can haul up to 8,400 pounds of cargo.
Of course, smooth shifting is important. The Lincoln Navigator Select also comes with a 10-speed automatic transmission with SelectShift®. When this transmission is paired with the available 4x4 system, the Navigator can maintain 21 highway/16 city MPG.1
Safety Features
There's plenty of tech to keep you safe in the Lincoln Navigator Select, starting with AdvanceTrac® with Roll Stability Control®. This feature works in concert with brake and engine-activated traction control to help you power through even the roughest roads.
You'll also have the benefit of smart features like the Blind Spot Information System (BLIS®) with a Rear Cross-Traffic Alert. This feature, along with reverse and forward sensing, utilize cameras and sensors to monitor and react to the road for you.
Interior Comforts
The Lincoln Navigator Select is a very roomy SUV, offering passengers a total of 172 cubic feet of passenger room and 20.9 cubic feet of cargo space behind the third row.
Driver's will have plenty of great convenience features, such as remote start and push-button ignition and shift. A hands-free liftgate is also included for easier open and close.
Â
There will be no shortage of entertainment technologies in this SUV. First and foremost, you'll have the integrative SYNC® 3 suite on your side, which comes with a 10-inch LCD touchscreen and 14-speaker audio system. Navigation and an embedded 4G modem have also been added.
What Changes in the Remaining Lincoln Navigator Trim Levels?
With so much offered up front in the Lincoln Navigator Select trim, there's only a few more major differences that you should be aware of in the rest.
Lincoln Navigator: The L Trims
One of the first major differences is in the L trim levels. One is offered for both the Navigator Select and Navigator Reserve models. Essentially, the L is just a longer model of each of these versions, with specs as follows:
- Wheelbase:Â 131 inches (adds 12 inches)
- Length:Â 222.3 inches (adds 15 inches)
- Cargo (total):Â 128.2 cubic feet (adds 25 cubic feet)
With the additional space, the L trim levels are also able to add a cargo management system. Essentially, this is a system of nooks, crannies, tie-downs, and hooks that make it easier for you to move seating and securely store cargo items.
Lincoln Navigator Reserve
The Lincoln Navigator Reserve trim levels include both a standard and an L version. Ultimately, these trims just seem to add a bit more luxury to this already rich package.
For example, the Navigator Reserve comes with Trevino Premium Leather instead of the standard trim, as we as a leather-wrapped instrument panel. Premium carpeted floor mats with the Lincoln logo are included in the first and second rows, with floor mats in the rear for cargo.
As for performance, the Reserve also comes with Lincoln Drive Control featuring the Continuously Controlled Damping. This feature will greatly add to your already sharp handling.
