What's New for 2015

For 2015, the Lincoln MKZ takes a stroll down Memory Lane by revisiting the "Designer Edition" trims of the 1970s and 1980s courtesy of the new Black Label trim. Inspired by the previous efforts of Bill Blass, Emilio Pucci, and Hubert de Givenchy, the in-house effort features two distinctive interior treatments: the high-contrast chocolate-themed Indulgence and the red-and-black Center Stage.

Exterior

The 2015 Lincoln MKZ's unique exterior remains as stunning as ever, thanks to its sleek profile with aggressive yet elegant undertones. The fine-toothed chrome-accented grille remains as prominent as ever up front, while the understated rear end retains the razor-thin LED taillight strip and the subtle spoiler lip. The Lincoln MKZ comes standard with 18-inch multi-spoke alloy wheels and a very convenient capless fuel filler system.

 

Interior Features

Inside, the 2015 Lincoln MKZ remains as elegant as ever thanks to the MKZ's avant-garde interior design and choice of premium materials. Leather-trimmed seats are standard, as well as dual-zone automatic climate control, ten-way power front seats with power lumbar adjustment and driver memory settings and a tilt-and-telescoping steering wheel. Also standard is the Sync voice command system and MyLincoln Touch infotainment system, bundled with the eleven-speaker sound system and eight-inch touchscreen. The touch-sensitive controls add a touch of class to an already elegant interior.

Buyers can choose between the Select, Reserve and Preferred package groups, with each featuring an assortment of optional features including heated rear seats, 19-inch alloy wheels, a premium 14-speaker surround-sound system and the MKZ's signature retractable panoramic roof.

 

Performance

For 2015, the Lincoln MKZ retains the standard 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine. This powerful yet fuel-efficient motor produces 240 horsepower and 270 pound-feet of torque. Those in search of more spirited performance can step up to the optional 3.7-liter six-cylinder engine, capable of producing 300 horsepower and 277 pound-feet of torque.

Both engines deliver their power through a six-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters. The turbocharged 2.0-liter engine offers an EPA-estimated 26 mpg (FWD) and 25 mpg (AWD) combined. The optional 3.7-liter engine delivers an EPA-estimated 22 mpg (FWD) and 21 mpg (AWD) combined.

Meanwhile, the Lincoln MKZ Hybrid remains geared towards fuel efficiency thanks to its 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine and 88-kilowatt electric motor. Power for the front-wheel drive hybrid flows through a continuously variable transmission (CVT), allowing for an impressive EPA estimate of 45 mpg overall.

Safety

The 2015 Lincoln MKZ offers a variety of safety features as standard, including front side-impact airbags and side curtain airbags. Lincoln MKZ buyers also get the innovative MyKey system that allows parents to configure their vehicle specifically to protect young drivers. The Sync voice command center also features automatic emergency crash notification upon airbag deployment.

Optional features include a rearview camera, inflatable rear seat-belts and rear cross-traffic alerts. Buyers who choose the available Technology package also get adaptive cruise control, automatic headlights, lane departure warning, forward collision warning and an automated parallel parking system.
